It seems there is no end to the nightmare for smartphone industry. After NOTHING, now POCO is facing users wrath but this time, it’s company's fault.
POCO released software update for their POCO X series and it seems that this update is not what user’s thought. Some users are complaining that their phone got bricked after the update and the company has not given any official reply on the situation.
Let’s hear the story from the user himself…
"I was just normally using my phone, and suddenly see glitches on screen and it's dead, I try to re-start and everything but nothing works, then I try to boot it in fast boot and safe mode, it only reaches up to POCO start-up page and goes blank and shuts down.
Then I found that it's very common this days with my model, MIUI had some bug in recent updates which was messing up between battery and motherboard, and mother board would be suddenly be dead. It was happening since March or something, so people started complaining and having trust issues. Company has closed production of this model so they have motherboard shortage, they extended warranty for 6 months for all POCO X3 pro users, and gave 2 years of warranty on their new POCO F4 as everyone was having trust issues in POCO.
Then I saw on twitter that this is happening with so many users.
I went to service center, they said I'll lose my data, they will try to software update my phone to boot up, I said it's my precious data, they blamed me that you should backup yourself before bringing it here, like how am i supposed to take backup from dead phone.
They wiped it (that's what they say) and came to me saying it's not working, motherboard is dead and you have to wait 7-15 days until company send as reply that if they have CPU, they will send us and we will fix or they will give POCO X4 pro 5G (128/8) and if not that, then Redmi note 10 pro (128/6)."
Even after the repair, one user's phone got bricked for the second time. There is no guarantee that it wont happen again after the repair of the device. Even if the company exchange the device for another model, that will be unfair to the users who choose the smartphone after intensive research and buys the smartphone they think is best for them.
There is no official comment from the POCO as of now and it seems users will have to wait until the company decide a permanent solution to user's nightmare.
